The ‘Nature Of Watercolor”…Working together (you and the medium) to produce fabulous water color paintings!
The NATURE of watercolor will do half the work for you! The artist needs only to coax the paints and paper to do its magic. It moves, it drips, it mingles and flows. With your guidance it creates light and colors that are glorious. Your vision will come to life when you learn all the skills that are available to you. We will learn about mixing on the paper, sometimes encouraging drips and backruns. We will do lifting, glazing and texturing. We will try saturated wet watercolor paper and learn how to keep the paper from drying too fast; giving us the maximum time for those glorious wet washes.
Chris is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, the Northwest Watercolor Society and past president of the Watercolor Society of Oregon. She has taught at the Village Gallery for over 20 years. Check out her web site for more information and samples of her work.

Often, the key to a successful painting is determined by the initial choices you mkae before even beginning. What paper to use? Size of painting? Subject? Style? Equipment? Wet start-Dry start? Techniques? Colorful? Subtle?
To be honest, we also sometimes let the painting evolve. We may begin one way and then change directions. In this class we will explore many options, techniques, equipment, etc. Be prepared to have FUN AND FABULOUS PAINTINGS!!
