Artist • John Mohney

JohnJohn first started painting in 1998 when he retired after 32 years in civil engineering. Since that time, John has taken workshops from many nationally known artists. His main interest is in painting Northwest landscapes.

Although John paints mostly in watercolor, he has experimented with acrylic and collage, and enjoys using lots of color and emphasize shapes.

John’s paintings are realistic but with an abstract quality. Sometimes he paints on location, but most of his work is done in the studio. John says he mainly just enjoys the process of creating.
