Artist • Laurie Svec
Laurie acquired an associate degree in commercial art after attending Oregon State University, Texas Community College, and Houston Community College. She has been a member of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston for 15 years.
Having recently moved to Tigard, she is now a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon. She joined the Village Gallery of Arts in Portland and has been attending Life Drawing at Oregon College of Art and Craft. For many years, Laurie has also been a member of Women in Visual & Literary Arts, The Egg Art Guild of Houston, and Houston Civic Art Association. Her art and her crafts have shown, and sold, in many venues from Japan, Germany, and the United States, thanks to moving around with the military.
Laurie created public art in Houston including a cow for The Cow Parade, Houston, and a “way finding” sign for downtown signage. She is also a published author and has had some photographs and short stories published in several magazines.
