Meet the Juror – Susan Hinton
Susan has recently returned to her native Oregon after a lengthy sojourn in Colorado. She began painting with watercolor in that wonderful Rocky Mountain state and it was there that she developed her preference for dramatic light and deep shadows under the clear blue skies of the high desert.
Now the vast array of glorious colors and types of flora visible year around in Oregon has added new inspiration for her paintings on paper and canvas. While the majority of her work tends to be realistic portrayals of various aspects of nature, she has been known to stray to architecture, portraiture and even the occasional abstract.
She has exhibited and won awards in both national and international juried shows. She has been published in Splash, a Northlight Watercolor book and was a featured artist in “Watercolor” magazine, Summer Issue 2011.
