I am Ohio born, and have lived in Oregon since 1972. I worked as a labor and delivery registered nurse for 32 years, retiring in 2010.  At that time I joined the Village Gallery of Arts and started painting on a more regular basis.

My husband Scott and I enjoy traveling. We backpack, car camp, cross country ski in various locations across the U.S. and hike on trails near our house every day.

I work primarily in acrylic and mixed media on paper, and I enjoy the properties of transparent acrylic for its ability to create depth and glow. I am a color and texture painter whose current focus is abstract design.

The mixed media artist Karen Rosasco has influenced my painting style more than any other artist I have studied with. Her "recipe" of "start with the heart and finish with the head" directs my painting style. This gives me permission to just let loose with the paint and paper in the beginning and then, in a second step, come back to the painting to work on composition, values, shapes and textures.
