VGA Show at The Acklery at Timberland – Wednesday, October 23 9AM – 4PM
I am in the beginning stages of planning a potential outside show at the Ackerly at Timberland. The Ackerly at Timberland offers a continuum of senior care services that include independent living, assisted living, and memory care and is located near the gallery. VGA, by way of our membership with the Cedar Mill Business Association (CMBA), has attended monthly networking meetings for some time and this opportunity has recently presented itself. The Ackerley can promote the event through local outlets like the Beaverton Valley Times and Cedar Mills News.
Here are the details at this point (please know they may be subject to change):
Interested VGA artists (including residents of the Ackerly) are invited to set up at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, with the event starting at 10 a.m. There will be Happy Hour that will run from 3 to 4 p.m. in their pub. They would love to have some of our artists talk about the art that we do during Happy Hour while enjoying some drinks and snacks. The plan is to start teardown at 4 p.m.
Artists do not need to spend the entire day at the Ackerly, just show up with your artwork and means to display it (easel, stands etc.) at 9AM and then return at 3PM for the Happy Hour before taking your artwork down at 4PM.
This event includes both 2D and 3D art. For 2D artists, if you have an easel that would be helpful as the facility does not have a hanging system. There will be tables for 3D art.
This is a small show so if you are interested in participating, please let me know. Email me at dunhamsw@frontier.com
We hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Sharon Dunham, VGA Outreach Team Coordinator
