“ART DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS” COMMUNITY SHOW OPENS
After months of planning, our community show is on display! The show features 103 works by 92 artists of all ages. We were delighted to meet some of our young artists on Sunday, May 1st at the opening reception.
Youths entering the show were provided free 6X6”canvases. Art by students from Sunset High School and their instructor, Mary Tassone, were well- represented in this exhibition. Other youth contributors include students from our Children’s Art Classes, and Webelos from Troop 726, as well as many other individuals. We hope that many of them will visit the show this month and beam with pride.
Entries on 10”X10” wood panels include work by VGA members as well as artists from the community. Work on display includes painting, drawing, collage, glass and ceramics, encompassing an engaging variety of styles. Several paintings have already sold, so don’t wait too long to see the show. There are wonderful additions to your art collection available to brighten your home starting at $10. The show ends May 29th .
Proceeds from entry fees support the Village Gallery’s scholarship fund. We anticipate granting our first awards next spring and thank all of those that helped to make this possible. Those wishing to support our Scholarship fund may donate at the front desk and let the Gallery Assistant know the donation is for Scholarships.
