Art Kits Coordinator(s) needed ASAP

The Village Gallery of Arts’ Art Kits Program is now 4 years old!  Since its inception, VGA has produced 1763 kits and distributed 1683. Our kits are often given to other non-profit organizations that benefit underserved populations. This program is a vital part of our Community Outreach and there is enough grant money available to keep it operational for at least the next two years.

The coordinator keeps records of production & distribution, reaches out to potential donation sites (there is a database), orders supplies, arranges deliveries and recruits other volunteers as needed to help assemble & deliver kits. The Art Kits Coordinator reports to the Outreach Coordinator  is responsible for reports to the board and occasional articles for Art Focus.  S/he also needs to communicate with the Treasurer on a regular basis regarding the remaining balance on the grant.  This is a successful, well-established model. It can be split between 2 people.  Word processing and working knowledge of simple spreadsheets is necessary.

The coordinator may also design new kits based on the existing model and encourage others to do so. There are options for interactive events involving the kits.

Volunteer hours for the coordinator(s) fluctuate depending on needs but might average about 3 hours per month.
