August Big and Bold – Laura Hopper

“Garden Party” was of interest to a couple friends who come to my studio to paint each week.  I had fun painting a series in this style some years ago, and their interest has led me back to doing it once again.  It’s a multi-layered spontaneous way of drawing with crayon before painting with watercolor.  One of my students commented that she liked that it is framed without the use of the matted style we usually use in framing watercolor paintings.
