Christina grew up in Northern and Southern California and moved to Oregon permanently in 1996. She resided in Humboldt County, surrounded by the beautiful mountain and ocean landscapes indigenous to the area. In addition to all the school field trips to her beloved redwoods, her family frequently went on day trips to the coast and camped along the peaceful banks of nearby rivers – nature’s beauty has truly been an inspiration to her art.
Her mother attended College of the Redwoods, and she often took Christina along with her to her classes. Christina greatly admired her mother’s artistic ability using watercolor. Several of those watercolor paintings are proudly displayed in Christina’s home.
When she was in high school in southern California, Christina had a wonderful art teacher who has been a source of encouragement ever since. She took as many classes from him as she could in her four years there. Her dream was to own one of his paintings – that dream came true a few years ago.
Knowing she had the talent and subsequently developing the necessary skill set, Christina has been a successful hairdresser for over 40 years. This same association of talent and skill has also held true in the art world – she knew she had the talent but needed the skill. After taking a few watercolor classes and viewing numerous videos, Christina is well on her way to creating wonderful artwork!
