Beginning Gourd Class

Class Description: This class will cover the basics of working with gourds. We will learn how to clean, cut, dye, wood burn, paint and add pine needles to a gourd. This is a fun class and does not require previous pine needle basketry skills.

Supply list: Please bring an apron, a mask, and any designs you may wish to put on your gourd. Bring your lunch.
About the Artist:
Kim is a retired special education teacher and administrator. She is a pine needle basket maker and gourd artist. She has been making and teaching pine needle basketry for over 30 years and gourd classes for 10 years. She lives in Pleasant Hill, Oregon near Eugene. Her website is beavermeadowarts.com.
