Gelli-print Basics-Sally Boyd

Description: Join a small group interactive workshop learning the basics of working with a gelli plate for mono-printing and more.
We will make wonderfully unique and colorful papers suitable for collage, gift wrap, card making and journal pages. We will explore paint layering applications, the use of masks and stencils, mark making, and color mixing.
No need to purchase a gelli plate and brayer, they will be provided for you, if you don’t already have them.
Supplies Needed:
Paper to print on such as copy paper, rice paper, deli paper, music sheets, book pages.
Acrylic paints, almost type of acrylic paint will work, liquid and soft body works the best. Bring your favorite colors, plus black and white, metallics are good too.
Bring any mark making tools, masks or stencils you might have.
About the Instructor: A Portland native, Sally has been a member of the Village Gallery of Arts for several years. An autodidact as well as a student of numerous art instructors, she is always on the lookout to learn something new and loves to experiment with mark making and creating. She has sampled many various styles and medium and including watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylic, paper mâché, collage, print making, book arts, jewelry making and mixed media constructions, with found items and curiosities a favorite.
