Jewelry Making with Unique Materials – Vicki Szukalla

November 6 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$80.00 – $95.00

Jewelry Making with Unique Materials with Vicki Szukalla

Dates: Wednesdays, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20

Time: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Level: Adult

Class size: Min. 3, Max. 6.

Cost: $95 (for 3 classes)

Materials fee: $5 per piece completed, paid directly to the instructor at the end of each class.  All materials/tools will be provided, however, it is recommended you bring a good pair of sharp scissors, if possible.

Let’s make some jewelry! Treat yourself and/or others to one-of-a kind creations. You will walk away with as many as six (likely more) pieces depending on your speed and choice of materials — just in time for the holidays!
You choose what you’d like to make (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, key rings, etc.) using any of the materials available, with the help and guidance of the instructor. (Examples in the photos will be available during class). Each class will include a brief description and demonstration of materials/tools/techniques followed by hands-on learning and making. No previous experience required.
This class is designed to give you an introduction to multiple styles of jewelry-making using a variety of techniques including metal stamping, disc-cutting, beading, and cold-connecting (also bench grinding & drill pressing, if you’re brave). Choose from a large variety of findings and decorative tins, aluminum, Formica, recycled metals/bottle caps, acrylic paint, leather/fabric cords, and more than 100 types of beads to make your pieces.
About the artist:  I’m a retired School Psychologist who has been a ‘maker’ for as long as I can remember. I have a B.S. in Horticulture/Floral Design and have been a part-time florist, potter, painter, and jewelry designer for decades. I’m a self-proclaimed ‘tool junky’ and love finding the right tool for every job. My jewelry has been sold at Switch in Multnomah Village, the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, and A Framers Touch in Forest Grove as well as at many regional craft markets, including First Thursday in The Pearl.
