Have you wanted to try acrylics but been afraid. This is your perfect jumping off spot. Supplies for this class will be limited. We will be working from copies of my prior painting.
I teach techniques not how to paint just one painting. My goal is for you to be able to repeat the painting with your own variations
This is a simple process to capture the beauty of hydrangeas in acrylic. We will start with transparent colors and then build with opaque. Drawing isn’t important, anyone can manage these shapes. This is for beginning, intermediate acrylic artists.
This is an interactive Zoom class. I have you watch me with a camera placed just above my brush as I talk you through what I am doing. Then I verbally repeat the process as you practice the technique. You can ask questions as we go along. This interaction is the same that I enjoy in my face-to-face classes. Students have told me it’s so much easier to see what I’m doing than in a live class. I ask students to hold their work up so I can see it from time to time to make sure I’m being clear.
About the Artist: After retiring, I was drafted to teach a watercolor class in Arizona. My professional work had been technical, and I taught workshops during that life. I quickly found that I loved teaching art and showing beginning artists techniques so they could be successful painting on their own. I’ve been teaching in Arizona and Oregon for many years now. You need not have any fear coming to my classes, I love a good time and I will laugh a lot. My goal is to make you feel welcome and to enjoy my classes. Please join me.
