Improved Gallery Lights are on!

Due to some creative footwork by the member team of Alaka Sarangdhar and Sally Boyd, the Gallery was awarded a grant from the City of Beaverton to make much needed improvements to Gallery’s lighting and technology. The new LED motion sensitive overhead lights in the Gallery and the classroom are working very well. They provide an improvement for VGA’s classes for all ages. Not to mention saving on electricity which brought to us choosing LED lighting. Track lighting added to the front window enables the Gallery managers to better highlight art on display.  Also allowed by the grant, a large monitor was installed in the classroom for demonstrations and promotion and a laptop for the Gallery. The monitor coupled with the laptop provide unending opportunities for Gallery Assistant training, classroom demonstrations, special event features and data sharing at Board and committee meetings. The laptop (securely attached to an iron and glass top table) is available to all who visit the Gallery. It provides access to Gallery website to register for classes, check the event calendar or become a member, donor, volunteer.  Members can access member information and documents for showing their work.

So, the gift of the grant is unmeasurable as are these two outstanding members who made it happen for all of us.
