Anthony Hughes also joined in February. Anthony moved to Oregon 1 year ago, from Hawaii. His medium is oil and he is very interested in teaching classes. He started a sketching club in Hillsboro with over 200 members.
Karen Hayter the latest member to join. Her medium is pastels. She was looking for a friendly group of artists who she could learn from and share her love of art. On a visit to Blick’s she met Sherry, who invited her to visit VGA. She is looking forward to being a Gallery Assistant and a host for Gallery receptions.
Did you know Americans volunteer nearly 8 billion hours of their time to local and national causes. According to Volunteer Match nearly one in four Americans, an estimated 64.3 million people, have served as volunteers. Like everything else, volunteering is changing and evolving. For example, the internet has created the possibility for people to volunteer from home.
Without our volunteers VGA would not be supporting local artists and sharing the need for art in our community. Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers! If you would like to support VGA with your time, talents and experience come join one of our teams or become a Gallery Assistant! Help keep the Arts alive in our community!
