Leah’s thoughts…
Post-Holiday Winter. This time of year is my favorite. No, I’m not a Grinch or a Scrooge (bah! Humbug!) but I am an artist, and I like some time to tinker around in my studio….alone. When the holidays finally wind down and everyone goes home (or back to work or school), THIS is a great time to clear the work area and make something. Maybe you feel like this too.
If you’re having a tough time coming up with what to make, how about taking a class? Sometimes, learning a new medium is the perfect way to refresh your art practice. Look for our watercolor, acrylics, and pastel classes here. (link to https://villagegalleryarts.org/classes/
There’s no better way to show your love (or like) than making a handmade valentine’s day card for someone! Or… feel the love of family and bring the kids to have them make their own cards. We’ll be doing this on February 10 from 1 – 3 pm, right out in front of the gallery (weather permitting.)
Besides, February 2024 begins the year of the dragon, the boldest, luckiest Chinese zodiac animal. They say a dragon year is a perfect time to pursue new opportunities and follow your creative dreams….so….grab a friend and let those dreams fly, together!
Cheers,
Leah Jay
