Intermediate skill level and basic knowledge of watercolor.
Class size min. 2 max 8
This is an intermediate level watercolor class. In this class you will use different brush techniques and break down complex subject matter.
*Supplies:
Watercolor paints by Winsor Newton Cotman or similar:
Cerulean BL., Permanent Violet, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Green, Olive Green, Sap Green, Viridian, Ultramarine BL., Indigo, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Vandyke BR.
(Other watercolor paints are welcome; bring what you have or like best.)
*Brushes for watercolor: BFC-1 HAKE Brush 1″ Wide Flat (Sold at Blick), Round Brushes, size 2, 6, 8 or so
*Watercolor Paper: 1 sheets of watercolor paper Arches 300 g/m2 – 140 Ib, Cold Press 11.69″ -16.53″ or similar papers such as: Fabriano and Canson Montval. ( a watercolor pad is acceptable, and size bigger than 11.69″ -16.53″ is acceptable, and if you have any extra papers, bring it.)
*Ond board
*One prestretched watercolor paper on board.
*Any palette (minimum of 15 wells)
*Masking tape
*Any 2 water containers (I use old large and small yogurt containers)
*Pencil and erasers.
*A few paper towels and Kleenex tissue.
*Other items may be suggested in class, but are not required.
*If you have watercolor supplies, please bring what you already have!
About the Instructor:
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon. Watercolor is my preferred medium because its transluscent qualities make it versatile for use in both traditional and experimental painting techniques.
