Shadow a VGA Committee Coordinator

One key to a successful organization is strong programming; another is continuity.  A good time to learn a new position is working alongside the person currently in place.  These positions are in need of job shadows with an eye to future transitions.  Take advantage of the opportunity to work alongside an experienced person!

Fundraising lead

If you have a passion for our local art community and have an interest in seeing the miracle of giving at the Village Gallery of Arts, please reach out.  Shadowing is a wonderful way to meet supporters and artists in the community who share our common goals.  Learn more about Fundraising while being a compassionate participant. Outreach Team Lead

Interested in sharing the gallery’s mission and vision with the community? Currently, the gallery participates in a variety of events including outside shows, Community Arts Program (CAP) presentations, Art Kit distribution, tabling at community events (Washington County Open Studios, La Strada, Volunteer Fair, Cedar Mill Farmers’ Market, Venezuela’s Voice in Oregon, etc.). Bring your own touch to this position. For more information, please contact Sharon Dunham at dunhamsw@frontier.com

Art Kits Lead

Art Kits have been a vital part of VGA’s Community Outreach since 2020.  The coordinator maintains & tracks the inventory, which includes purchasing supplies (Grant-funded) and grouping them for our kit assembler.  S/he also keeps a database which includes inventory & distribution stats and contact info for the organizations that we supply.  The position requires organizational skills and some networking. Record-keeping is currently managed via an Excel spreadsheet. Some tasks,  like delivering kits,  can be delegated.  The person who manages this program should coordinate with the Treasurer regarding grants & expenditures on a regular basis. Data should be reported to the board as it is part of our non-profit activity.  Interested? Contact Debbie Teeter: education@villagegalleryarts.org

Treasurer

It’s never too soon to have candidates in the wings for this important position.  Learn the various aspects of the treasurer’s job over the course of the next year. You will also have the support of 2 other members of the Finance Team. The best fit will be someone savvy with numbers and technology who possesses good problem solving skills and strong attention to detail. Experience with Quickbooks would be a plus, although it can be learned.  An understanding of spreadsheets is also helpful. (treasurer@villagegalleryarts.org)
