Instructor Bio: Erik Sandgren makes prints and paintings that reference the light, patterns and motion of nature and evoke the sensory experience of Pacific Northwest landscapes. Born in Oregon and educated at Yale and Cornell, he is the son of painter Nelson Sandgren (1917-2006). Since 1989 Erik has been painting Northwest lands and waters in the light of myth, history and origins. Their topographical references are observed, imagined and remembered.
